As a supporter of Depression Alliance you will have exclusive access to a range of mutual support services, including our pen-friends scheme and an email discussion forum ‘DATalk’. Our 'information series' leaflets also come free of charge with your welcome pack.

You will receive our quarterly newsletter ‘A Single Step’ (either through the post or by email, depending on your choice), which is filled with interesting and informative articles about different topics relating to depression. ‘A Single Step’ is a voice for those affected by depression and we encourage readers to email and write in response to anything they read, or to share their experiences.

By joining Depression Alliance you will also be adding your name to the growing list of supporters who help our campaign to raise awareness about this serious and misunderstood condition. We will continue to keep you informed about the different ways to get involved.

Over the last three decades, Depression Alliance has made real progress in supporting those affected by depression. But there is still much to be done, as evidenced by the 45,000 information requests we respond to each year stemming from our information lines.

Our support services are of vital importance to people affected by depression – 2.9 million people in the UK alone – and yet we receive only minimal government funding. Because of these funding constraints, we cope with this workload with very few paid staff members, supported by committed volunteers, with around a third of our time being spent making sure that we have the funds to survive.
