Throughout the year we target the public, press and parliamentarians with a variety of influential and challenging events and initiatives. We also work with healthcare professionals to secure better service provision for people with depression, and lobby government to influence policymaking in this health field.
Depression Awareness Week ™ is an annual initiative supported by health professionals, politicians, celebrities and the media. Each year we select a specific campaign theme for the week, raising awareness of a particularly serious or prevalent aspect of depression.
The work of our media case studies is crucial in enabling Depression Alliance to achieve its aim of showing the general public the realities of living with depression. Our existing media case studies have collaborated with the BBC on radio broadcasts, been interviewed on GMTV and ITN News, and have had their stories featured in the printed press, from The Guardian to The Sun.
