Equality for mental health
Charities, celebrities, MPs and faith leaders are amongst the many signatories to back the new Equality for Mental Health Campaign.
Former Mental Health Minister, Norman Lamb MP, Alastair Campbell and Andrew Mitchell MP, launched the campaign, calling for equal treatment of physical and mental illnesses and an increase in funding for mental health services.
Depression Alliance Chief Executive, Emer O’Neill, said:
Depression Alliance is wholly supportive of the parity of esteem campaign.
For too long we have seen support services for people with mental health diminish.
We know that with good, robust, well-funded support networks people can recover and flourish and we want to see more not less funding to help us build up local networks to make this happen.
