Rotary Club of Bath supports Depression Alliance
Depression Alliance was presented with a £4,000 donation by the Rotary Club of Bath to aid in the set up of new support services for people affected by depression in the City.
The donation, raised by Rotary at its annual golf tournament on Friday 11th September, will allow Depression Alliance to fund local support by setting up regular self-help groups and meet ups.
Depression Alliance Chief Executive, Emer O’Neill, said:
“Thanks to this wonderful donation, we will be able to extend our support network to Bath. We will be provide a safe, friendly and above all non-complicated way to find information, understanding, support for the many people across the city working through depression.”
The Mayor of Bath, Cllr William Sandry, presenting awards to the winners of the tournament held at Bath Golf Club on Bathampton Down, said:
“Many people locally will know I’ve been open about enduring depression myself. This fantastic fund-raising effort by the City of Bath Rotary will contribute to improving mental well-being across our City.”
With over 160 players, and sponsorship from businesses across Bath and Somerset, the Rotary Club of Bath annual charity golf day is the largest held in the City.
