Running to save lives
Thank you so much to our incredible fundraisers who joined us on 12th July for the British 10k London run, raising over £6,000 for our life-saving work.
Our team of 30 joined a huge crowd of 25,000 runners raising money for a wealth of different causes, taking in the iconic landmarks of central London including Big Ben, The London Eye and Westminster Abbey, on their route through the city.
Siblings Carly, Marcus and Sophie from Kent ran together, and Carly told us why the day was so important to her. “Running the British 10k for Depression Alliance alongside my brother and sister was one of the best experiences we’ve had together. This fantastic charity raises awareness about an illness that is so close to our hearts, so that made the gruelling 6.2mile run even more worthwhile. Adrenaline was pumping and the energy from the DA team helped to spur us on. Exercise plays such an important role in anyone’s recovery from depression and we were just so glad to help raise money and awareness for an illness that is constantly getting overlooked.”
